Show Hall: North Carolina State Fair Grounds, Holshouser Building , 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.   Outside food is allowed. Food will be available for purchase. 

Show Hotel: Best Western Plus Cary Inn- NC State 1722 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27511  Phone (919) 481-1200. Block pricing available  – $76, plus taxes, no pet fee, breakfast included.  The hotel does not have an airport shuttle.  Please mention It’s TICA Time when making reservations. Reservations must be received by February 1, 2020.  NOTE – this hotel does sell out in February, make your reservations early.

There are additional  pet-friendly hotels in the area.

Please make every effort to leave your room in the condition it was found, if not better. Be sure to confine spraying males (and females!) and clean up after yourself and your cats. TICA Hotel Room Inspection Procedures will be enforced and can be viewed at https://www.tica.org/resources/our-forms/file/42-hotel-room-policy. Entry in this show, and lodging at the show hotel, shall constitute an acknowledgment by and consent of the exhibitor to these procedures.

Transportation: Most major carriers fly into Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), which is an approximate 25 minute drive from the show hall / hotel.  Taxis and rental cars are available at the airport. 

Show Hours: Check-in will be from 7:30 to 8:30 AM Saturday. Judging will begin promptly at 9:00 AM on Saturday. Check-in on Sunday will be from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM with judging beginning promptly at 9:00 AM. Advertised show hours on Saturday will be 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Please plan to remain in the show hall during advertised show hours.  Cats cannot remain in the show hall overnight.

Show Rules: TICA show rules will be strictly enforced. By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by the decisions of the judges and show committee. Official show rules, registration information and forms may be obtained from TICA, P.O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551 or viewed on their website at www.tica.org.

Payment: By entering the show, you agree to pay all fees whether you attend the show or not. Fees are not refundable OR transferable, and must be received no later than the closing date of February 9th , 2020.  Entries belonging to exhibitors on TICA’s Temporary or Permanent Suspension lists will not be accepted. It’s TICA Time will pursue any debt owed to the extent of TICA show rules and North Carolina law. A $45 charge plus related bank fees will be assessed for any check returned as not payable for any reason.

Registration: Registration: To show a cat in a TICA show, your cat might need to be TICA registered or eligible for registration in TICA. All cats shown in the following classes must be TICA registered to be entered in a show: Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed, and New Traits. All cats shown in the Kitten, Championship, and Alter classes must be TICA registered or eligible for registration. If not registered, proof of registration eligibility is required to enter the show. Contact the entry clerk for more information on how to enter your cat, kitten, or alter without at TICA registration number. Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete. However, to be scored for TICA titles and regional / International awards, all cats (other than household pet kittens) must be registered by their second show. Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).

Health: This is a non-vetted show. Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall, along with any cats owned, housed or agented by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici and distemper (panleukopenia) at least two (2) weeks prior to the show, and should test negative for feline leukemia and FIV (“feline AIDS”). Any feline from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within twenty-one (21) days prior to the opening day of the show is ineligible for entry. An obviously pregnant or lactating cat will be disqualified. TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to judging. All entries should also have a current rabies vaccination. 

Grooming spaces: These measure approximately 22 inches x 22 inches x 44 inches. Available for purchase, in no case is vending permitted from your benching / grooming space.

For Sale: Sales cages are available , only exhibitors are eligible and requires payment with other registration fees . If you are bringing cats or kittens to sell, you are strongly advised to  familiarize yourself with the applicable statutes.  The club takes no responsibility for your failure to do so. 

Kittens: All kittens entered for competition must be at least four (4) and less than eight (8) calendar months old on the day of the show. No kitten under three (3) months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age). Kittens may be spayed or neutered.

Household Pets: Household pets are very welcome at this show! Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows. This is due to the number of HHPs that are rescue cats and may have already been declawed at the time of rescue. Household pets eight (8) months of age and older MUST be spayed or neutered. If you are not sure of the proper division or color of your cat, check out http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/intro.htm or email the entry clerk a color photo of your entry. 

Supplies: Cat litter will be available, but please bring your own litter pan and food and water dishes!

Benching: Each entry will be assigned a single cage, approx. 22″ X 22″ X 22″. The two sides, back, and top must be covered. For the comfort of your cat(s), please bring something for the bottom of the cage too! TICA rules allow no more than two kittens or one cat benched in a single cage. NO KITTENS OR CATS MAY BE CONFINED TO CARRIERS, EITHER DISPLAYED OR UNDER CAGES, DURING SHOW HOURS. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show. 

Clerks: Are indispensable! Ring clerks will be reimbursed $50 per day clerked, plus lunch, soft drinks, and a marked catalog, not to mention our undying gratitude! Requests for specific judges will be honored to the extent possible on a first come, first served basis and are subject to change. Currently licensed TICA clerks will be given preference. Trainees and assistants are always welcome. Clerks and trainees will be given preferential benching if we know in advance that you will be clerking!

Awards: Plaques will be awarded in accordance with TICA show rules. If you wish to sponsor any special awards, please contact the show manager.
